No doubt that we all can do anything just to be assured of good health. The only problem that often stands on the way is how to achieve that good health free of diseases and life threatening conditions. Well, that seems to be a problem that is as good as solved with the introduction of herbs, particularly Chinese herbs.

They have been used in Asia for centuries and have just a few side effects or in some cases, none at all. But despite this fact, there are some things that one must consider before using Chinese herbs.

The first consideration is of course quality. Just like the other herbal products in the market today, the manufacture and even distribution of Chinese herbs is not regulated. GMP which means good manufacturing practices is extremely important. Quality and consistency has to be assured for any Chinese herb to be considered safe and effective. If a Chinese herb manufacturing company is known for breaching GMP guidelines, then it is good to keep off that company for good, even if their Chinese herbs are among the best. It is up to you to therefore make sure that your preferred Chinese herbs manufacturing company has submitted their supplements for analysis and certification that they contain the minerals and substances labeled on the packs and that they are contaminant free Chinese herbs. This important information is always available on the company website or even by request

Proper usage is yet another important consideration you have to keep in mind. You have to be sure if you are consuming the right Chinese herbs for the right reasons. Avoid relying on marketers to help you know if you are using the right herb for the right reasons. Keep in mind that a good number of Chinese herbs like ginseng and astragalus are kind of benign when taken as prescribed. Other Chinese herbs like ephedra can be extremely harmful if taken inappropriately. You must therefore consult a qualified Chinese herbalist to help you with the right dose that you must take safely and for the right reasons.

While looking for qualified herbalists, keep in mind that American Herbalists may have little knowledge when it comes to Chinese herbs, it is therefore very important to just find a herbalist from Asia. Make sure that you do not go for just any Chinese herbalist. He or she must be a licensed and popular acupuncturist who within his or her license has had extensive and comprehensive training in Chinese herbs and medicine.

If for one reason or another you want to pick Chinese herbs on your own, then keep things simple. Just use the common herbs that are easy to identify. Make sure that they have no severe side effects at all. Then read the instructions on the Chinese herb pack and follow every word to the last word. But just before that, consult your doctor and ensure that the Chinese herbs will not counteract with the prescription drugs you could be under.
