The term rash is a generalized term for a change in the quality and appearance of the skin.  Rashes will vary in type, severity and area based upon the cause of the rash.

The Mayo Clinic reports that skin rashes are rarely a life threatening condition but they may be symptomatic of other conditions. Fungus, viruses, allergic reactions, heat, medications and parasites can all cause skin eruptions, rashes and bumps.

Topical Remedies

Wash the rash area with chamomile tea cooled to room temperature.  The chamomile is said to be a great natural healing agent. 

Add a bit of olive oil to the rash area, to penetrate the area and add an emollient effect. 

Aloe vera is also considered to be a great topical application for skin rashes.  Vitamin E oil or cod liver oil is also considered to be great remedies for rashes. 

Itching can be relieved with an oatmeal bath, made by adding a cup of uncooked oats to a warm, not overly hot bath.  The soaking in the tub will aid in relieving the symptoms of the rash.  Apply a paste of baking soda to the rash. 

Lime juice mixed with sandalwood paste is said to relieve the symptoms of skin rash.  Apply a combination of lemon juice and coconut oil to the rash to relieve the pain and symptoms of the rash. 

Drinking carrot juice or water with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar is also considered to be effective natural treatments for rashes.
