The demand for anti aging products is growing at a phenomenal rate. Industry experts predict that the market of anti aging products will bloom to well over $115 billion by 2010. Cosmetic Design reports that the growth is driven in part by the expansion of the consumer base to include younger age groups and new developments in cosmeceutical, beauty and food categories. Interest in anti aging products is now developing in consumers as young as 25-30 and as the baby boomer population ages, the consumers from 50-70 expand the market as well.
Currently the market is dominated (62.8%) according to Cosmetic Design.com by the US and European manufacturers. Doctor brands or cosmeceuticals are set to expand the market the fastest in the near future, with estimates as high as a 9.8% rise or $1 billion increases.
Prevention Magazine conducted testing on the top 35 anti aging products including anti aging creams and anti aging skin care using top university researchers and state of the art equipment. They ranked 7 skin care products as truly delivering visible results including: Olay’s ProX Age Repair Lotion SPF 30, RoC’s Multi-Correxion Night Treatment, Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge La Base Revitalizing Lip Treatment and Estee Lauder’s Idealist Dual Action Refinishing Treatment. The researchers found that brown spots, wrinkles and skin quality were all visibly altered by the product application.
Natural anti aging treatments include the proper diet including a rich menu of anti-oxidants and other anti-aging foods. Eating more carrots, tomatoes and pistachio nuts can have anti aging impacts. Swimming, mediation and calorie restriction diet can also have a beneficial effect on the anti aging process.
Some foods have been suggested as anti aging skin care items including using papaya as a facial, mashed papaya applied liberally to your face for 30 minutes can create a youthful glow. Ground potato mixed with applesauce is said to also leave this healthy glow.

Many beauty experts also agree that a healthy lifestyle is essential to the anti aging process including the elimination of smoking and other toxins than can adversely affect the skin’s quality. Healthy food choices rich in raw vegetables and food rich in anti-oxidants, regular exercise and proper levels of daily water consumption are important elements for the anti aging process.
