It is very common for people to emotionally eat and there are excessive eating home remediess to practice. We eat when we are tired, lonely, hungry, and even when we are angry or excited. Many people suffer from this type of anxious excessive eating and it can get out of control. Overeating is considered an eating disorder and it is when an individual never feels full.

Overeaters tend to keep eating even though they have already had a regular size portion. This can lead to extreme weight gain and may even cause a person to become obese. Weight is something everyone deals with whether someone is overweight or underweight. It can be quite difficult for many people to maintain their weight and to always keep monitoring it.

Many people try fad diets, over the counter medications, pills and some even go to extremes and binge and purge, or starve. There are thousands of people suffering with bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa around the world. It seems to be only increasing as people are so concerned with their appearance. Both of these disorders, as well as excessive eating, can be deadly and can cause organs to fail or other complications. There is a home remedy for overeating and this can include any of the following:

•    When a person feels hungry they should try to eat something healthier rather then opt for the junk food. This can calm the nerves and make you become a slower eater.

•    When you reach for the fridge always ask yourself H.A.L.T. Stop yourself and see whether you may be hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. If you are one of these then it is best to lie down and take a nap, calm down, or call a friend. If you are in fact hungry and have hunger pains then eat something.


•    Use the fork method. Every time you take a bite of off your plate with your fork lay the fork back down on the plate while you chew.

•    Try to keep snacking to a minimal amount or reduce it entirely. It is extremely common for people to snack while doing activities, playing a game, or watching a movie. We tend to do it almost as if on a subconscious level. Practice watching the TV without snacks for a bit and see if it is something you are able to do on a constant basis.


•    Limit the amount of sweets and salty foods that you keep in the house. Get rid of candy and chips you may have lurking in the house.

•    When you are doing your daily errands try taking a different path so you can avoid those bakeries and fast food places you may have visited before.

There are many ways you can get back on track when it comes to healthy eating. It is not just about will power and it is about re-programming your thoughts and behaviors.
