Indigestion, otherwise known as dyspepsia is one of the most common stomach problems. It irritates the esophagus and brings about other stomach conditions such as heartburn due to stomach acid reflux. If you have indigestion, you will always feel a bitter sour taste in your mouth frequently which may sometimes force you to puke.

Foods like chocolates, oily and overly spiced and oily foods can worsen the condition.  Coffee and carbonated drinks should be avoided at all costs as they can also worsen indigestion. If you have to drink coffee or carbonated drinks, then make sure that you drink them when you are not full with food in your stomach. Smoking too should be avoided as smokers are vulnerable to chronic indigestion problems.

Since there are so many home remedies for indigestion, it is important to find one simple home remedy and stick with it. The use of lemon is one of the simplest yet effective home remedies for indigestion. Simply mix lemon juice with water in equal proportion and drink the solution before every meal. For quick relief just mix water with baking soda and drink the solution. It will give you instant relief. Raspberry, ginger chamomile and lavender teas are also good for indigestion.      When using these teas as remedies for indigestion, drink them after every three or four hours till you feel relieved.

Other effective home remedies for indigestion include mint, ginger and garlic. When using mint essence, simply get a glass of water and add to or three drops of mint essence to it. You can also try to massage you stomach with a mixture of half a cup of soya oil, two or three drops of garlic oil  and water.

Then when eating make sure that you chew your food well before you can swallow it. Then avoid eating or drinking too much. If the problem persists, consult your doctor for advanced medical treatment.
