Tinnitus is the buzzing ringing sound inside one or both ears. The condition may come once and go or keep coming and going. Whichever way, tinnitus can be extremely uncomfortable and irritating and may prompt the sufferer to use foreign objects into his or her ear canal, something that should never be attempted no matter how deafening or uncomfortable the ringing may be.
There are two main types of tinnitus.
Objective and subjective tinnitus. For subjective tinnitus, the ringing sound inside the ear can only be heard by the patient alone. On the other hand for objective tinnitus, even the people around him can hear the ringing sound in his ears. The latter can be very uncomfortable, extremely disturbing and a great nuisance to the patient. He can therefore experience sleepless nights and difficulties in concentrating. Fortunately, there are a few things that one can do to keep the condition under control.
But before considering herbal cures for tinnitus, please remember to practice good ear hygiene. Remove too much wax using cotton buds, but then remember that removing every spec of wax is also not good. Wax helps to prevent foreign objects from entering the ear. Just remove a little to have ears that can be looked at without disgust. Then keep in mind there is no specific cure for tinnitus. Both medical and herbal cures for tinnitus are only aimed at putting the condition under control.
Avoid all processed foods, saturated fats, sugar, too much salt and dairy products. These food items only worsen the condition. Refined alcohol, coffee, sweet foods and tea should also be avoided. These foods always result in low blood sugar which is one of the main causes of tinnitus. Just consume lots of fresh green veggies, raw fruits and more water. Your diet must be rich in proteins, zinc, choline, and vitamins A, B and E.
As already said, there is no specific tinnitus treatment. Various factors have to be taken into account before and when treating the condition. It could be a symptom of an underlying chronic or even acute condition. In such cases, the underlying problem has to be taken care of and treated first. It could also be due to loud noise or water in your ears. Wear a mask if the case is due to loud noise and tilt your head to the side of water in your ear, lie like that for up to twenty minutes and you will feel something hot draining from your ear. The ringing will then be no more.
Ginko biloba or Maidenhair tree extracts are among the best herbal cures for tinnitus. Simply get the extract and put 20 to 40 mg of these extract to your ear for four or even six weeks. This herbal cure should treat the condition once and for all.
Keep in mind that ears are extremely sensitive organs. You have to be careful when treating them. Never use any ear drops if you are unsure of them. Just consult your doctor first before you can use the ear drops.
