Many of us have had headaches. We pop a pill or two, lay down for a bit and it vanishes. For those who suffer from migraines, it is a different story. Migraines for many will make them feel very ill and even nauseous.

They want to be in the darkest space in the house with their head under the pillow because it feels as if their head will explode from the pressure. If you have ever experienced a migraine you know that your average Tylenol will not help quick enough. So what other home remedies for migraines can you do when you feel one sneaking up on you?

 

Try keeping an ice wrap in your freezer for times like these. Using an ice wrap around your head or neck will get rid of your headache much quicker if caught immediately and treated rather than sitting in pain for a few hours hoping it will go away. The coldness of the ice wrap will slow down the blood flow and ease the pain almost instantly and much quicker than a small pill which takes a few hours to break down.

 

Migraine home remedies may also be just getting away from stress and relaxing the body. If you notice migraines becoming more and more severe it may be due to your lifestyle or stress which has been involved. If this makes sense, make sure you have a hour or so a day to sit alone in a dark room just to relax and ease the body from stress. Let your mind go to ease and just take a small nap. This can help you settle your migraines before they even become an issue. Others will try a sugar or caffeine rush to help. This will cause the vessels in the head to widen and not strain to pump the blood through. Home remedies migraines for many have always been told to drink something with caffeine or eat something such as chocolate to ease the pain. Many also suggest to eat a piece of chocolate a day to help with migraines if you notice them coming constantly on a schedule.

 

Home remedies for migraines can vary for each individual but if you notice that they are becoming more and more frequently it may be something that needs to be treated by a physician. Your doctor will ask you questions and sometimes even ask for a CAT scan to be performed to make sure everything is ok in the neuro part of your brain. They will them most likely prescribe you a medication to assist in the migraines and to keep them under control. Many migraine home remedies do work for some but for others they are just to harsh and are not bearable to even attempt home treatments when they feel one is on the way. Migraines are another type of pain which many prescribe as being the worst feeling in the world, as if your head is about to lift off of your shoulders. Make sure you have your migraines under control.
