Baldness can happen to anyone, both men, and women, of any age and any race. It is usually passed down from generation to generation and it is very common amongst men. Baldness is also known as the medical term alopecia, and is also called hair loss. Baldness involves patches of hair showing up on the scalp due to the increase in hair loss.

Baldness has been known to be linked to hormonal imbalance. Men are much more affected by this condition, although there are quite a few women that go through this as well.

People can get extremely upset when they begin to loose their hair. It can cause some people quite a lot of distress and worry. Men experience ‘male pattern’ baldness which starts with a receding hair loss from the beginning of the hair line then travels to the top of the head. Female pattern baldness is hair loss from the top or sides of the head and quite a few women go through this type of hair loss with hormonal changes, medications, and stress. Hair loss also happens when someone has Cancer chemotherapy treatment. When men go through balding the hair follicle does not produce new hair. It truly comes down to male hormones and if your father lost his hair as well.

There is a remedy for hair loss and usually this narrows it down to over the counter ointments, treatments, medications, and baldness home remedies. DHT, the abbreviation of dihydrotestosterone, is a gene that is produced in the body and it destroys hair follicles. This can be devastating for men to accept.

Women can have hair loss when they go through severe hormonal changes such as menopause, pre-menstrual syndrome, and even when pregnant. This type of hair loss is extremely common in women at these moments in life. There is hope for baldness in men and women. Some home remedies for baldness include:

•    Puree a few bananas in a dish and place in the fridge for about ten minutes. Take the dish out of the fridge then start applying it to the scalp and hair line. Make sure you massage it in to improve circulation in the scalp and encourage follicles to grow.
•    Buy some Olive oil from your local grocery store. Apply to hair and scalp and leave on for a few hours while keeping busy with something else. Make sure you wash off the Olive oil in the shower after one to two hours.
•    Find mustard oil, add a teaspoon of Cayenne powder, and mix with some natural henna seeds, or leaves. Mix in bowl and apply to scalp and hair. The Cayenne pepper might smell a bit weird, but it will help awake the hair follicles and allow them to be ready for new hair.
•    Buy some coconut milk and blend it with boiled water. Add some honey. Allow the mixture to cool down a bit and then apply all over the head. This will feel soothing and will give the hair you have a shiny look and promote hair growth.
Avoid wearing tight hats, hair bands, and pulling your hair back all the time. The strain you put on the hair by performing these actions will only increase hair loss.
