Effective Home Remedies for Dry Cough

Dry cough is that painful cough that is usually without sputum, hoarse and occasionally painful. It causes inflammation and sometimes tenderness of the throat thus making it hard to speak or even swallow hard foods. This is due to the little of no phlegm that the condition brings about. Consuming the paste twice or thrice a day can go a long way in healing the condition.  Another paste made of turmeric and carom seeds with water is good for dry coughs. It is a natural antiseptic with no side effects at all. Onion juice too is good for dry coughs. If you do not have any of these home remedies for dry coughs then ginger will still work perfectly well. It is a natural cure for almost all the types of coughs. You can drink ginger juice with a teaspoon of honey or add warm water and lemon to it to increase its effectiveness.

 If you constantly feel the urge to cough, get some apple cider vinegar.  Two or three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar will help reduce the urge to cough and get rid of the inflammation.  If the dry coughs is constantly attacking you especially at night, chewing some betel leaves will get rid of the constant attacks and give you some relief.  A combination of grapes and honey is also one of the best home remedies for dry coughs. A paste made of raisins and sugar and heated to a sauce consistency works the same way as the apple cider vinegar home remedy.

For quick recovery stay in hydrated areas and drink lot of water to stay hydrated. Use a humidifier in your room. Gargling with salty water and consuming some lozenges will also help you a lot.
