Amnesia comes in a variety of forms and some may suffer from a case of full blown amnesia where people forget who they are, who’s in their life, and all details about their past. Transient global amnesia is a rarity and is known as the sudden loss of all recent events and actions. It is a temporary form of memory loss and people do remember their loved ones and their life details.

It is still by far a disturbing situation when you lose ‘time.’ It can almost feel like a black out and people generally ask around to find out what they did in that period of time lost. People that experience transient global amnesia do regain their memory, but they may question that episode of time that is not present.

Dissociative amnesia, also known as psychogenic amnesia, is amnesia that results from physical injury or trauma such as a fall and direct hit to the head. This form of amnesia can result in the person unable to recall any of their personal life details. They may forget their address, their name, and loved ones. This form of amnesia is not only traumatic for the sufferer, but their friends and family too. It can feel as though family and friends have lost a loved one if the person with the amnesia never regains their memory.

In some cases, patients do recover, but this might be after a substantial period of time. Dissociative amnesia is definitely the most serious kind of memory loss or damage. This form of amnesia can also be caused by stress, sexual abuse, war, and a variety of other unwanted memories.

There are some popular home remedies for memory loss and amnesia. While they may not all guarantee success, you should always consult with your doctor before starting any new therapy or treatment. Some home remedies for amnesia include:

•    Try Perrenail Booti herbs. Dry some of these herbs in a place in the shade. Mix some of these herbs with hot water and bring to boil. Drink this concoction every day for approximately three weeks.
•    Try eating almonds every day. Almonds are a great for memory and it is recommended to have a hand full of these each day.
•    Try journaling. A journal is a great way to keep memories alive. Express your thoughts and feelings daily and reflect upon days that have passed. This might help strengthen and jog the memory back into shape.
•    Try taking rosemary for fatigue, stress and loss of memory. It is known as a beneficial home remedy for amnesia because it is the ‘herb of remembrance.’
•    A healthy diet of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables can be extremely beneficial in maintaining your memory flow. A healthy diet keeps a person in an optimal health state.

Don’t forget to speak to your doctor if you are thinking of taking vitamin supplements, minerals, or herbal treatments. Always consult with your doctor about any new lifestyle treatment plan to rule out allergies, or other health complications.
