Bleeding gums is known as gingivitis and it is when the gums become red, painful, swollen, and inflamed. This condition is the result of an illness, or a decrease in oral hygiene. Some people cannot afford to see the dentist every year as they can be expensive. They may have families to take care or, or other serious situations to manage. People tend to neglect their teeth at times, forget to brush, floss, and even gargle with mouthwash. Ultimately they are left with gingivitis treatment as their only option.
Gingivitis is known as a periodontal condition and disease and it is a painful situation that lies within the tissues that are around the gums and teeth. When gingivitis becomes very serious and worsens, it can turn into periodontitis. Once this condition is present there is a fear of losing teeth and bone loss within the mouth. The early phases of gingivitis are never really noticeable or painful. There are hardly any painful symptoms reported. The only one that will be able to truly tell if an individual is suffering from gingivitis is a periodontist.
Symptoms of gingivitis include:
• Red swollen gums

• Horrible tastes in the mouth

The causes of gingivitis lies with daily hygiene and trapped bacteria. Bacteria, food, and plaque can form disease between the teeth and gums and can trigger the condition of gingivitis. The smallest food particle or bacteria trace can lead to inflammation and pain in the gums. There are a variety of other gingivitis causes including drug interactions, prescribed medications, fungus infections, hormonal and emotional changes or imbalances, pregnancy, over the counter medications, and nutritional deficiencies.
There are some natural remedies for pain and symptoms of gingivitis. They can be performed at home and can reduce suffering in the gums and mouth. Here are some of the remedies that may work to decrease symptoms:
• A mouthwash that contains menthol, sage oil, chamomile, or peppermint oil can reduce swelling and pain within the mouth
• Take on a Vitamin C diet with vegetables and fruit. This vitamin can reduce risks of further complications and can prevent someone from experiencing gingivitis. Vitamin C can increase the healthy levels in the gums. Stay away from fruit juices with added sugar, flour based products, soda pop and other sugary foods.
• Use home made saline solution. Draw a glass of luke warm water and add a teaspoon of salt. Let it dissolve and gargle with it two to three times a day.
• Use an anti-bacterial mouth wash every morning and night after brushing teeth.
• Gargle with a spoonful of Hydrodren Peroxide to take away swelling, prevent infection and limit pain. Do NOT swallow. Wash mouth out after use.
