We all experience some level of motion sickness in our lifetime whether it is in a car, on a boat, in a plane, or even while walking. It is a purely normal condition to experience. Symptoms of motion sickness may include feelings of stomach upset, vomiting, headache, nausea, dizziness, vision problems, and more. Usually motion sickness passes after a certain period of time, and there is usually no need for concern.If it does last for more than hours a day it might be a good idea to speak to your doctor about it or tell a loved one.

Some foods and drinks can cause us to feel the same way as we do when motion sick. It is best to avoid excessive amounts of caffeine or alcohol when you are experiencing motion sickness as they will only add to the problem and you might even experiencing vomiting.

There are a variety of motion sickness remedies and treatment methods you can try when experiencing motion sickness. These include:

•    Try sipping on some ginger ale. This fizzy drink can actually calm the stomach and nerves. It has been used for years as a motion sickness home remedy.
•    Boil water and use ginger root tea bags or actual ginger root and make a drink. Ginger root has been used for centuries to treat colds, nausea, motion sickness, flu and other various conditions we generally experience.
•    Drink some ginseng tea. This is a great motion sickness home remedy tea to have around the house to sooth the stomach and relieve symptoms.
•    Mint leaves or mint tea seems to work very well as a motion sickness remedy. Buy some mint leaves at a herbal store and place them in a cup and add boiled water. Let the tea steep for a few minutes. Sip on this type of tea throughout the day for a calm stomach.
•    Saltine crackers are always good for calming the stomach down when one feels motion sickness. Make sure you do not over do it and eat too many crackers as this could be too much for your stomach to handle at the time.
•    Green tea can also work to relieve motion sickness in an individual. Actually most decaffeinated teas are good on the stomach as they are warm and gentle on the body.

Motion sickness remedies are always good to have around in the house. There are so many times in our lives that we can experience this type of feeling, but if it worsens over time, or if someone is vomiting profusely, a doctor should be consulted with. Sometimes dizziness or impaired vision can be the cause of other more serious underlying problems and it should be addressed.
