Some home remedies for stinky feet are effective and work well while other only offer temporary relief. It is therefore easy for the sufferer to give up, bitterly accept his or her condition and turn a blind eye to the embarrassment or inconvenience that he or she causes wherever he or she goes. If you are familiar with such struggles, or if you have been in perpetual struggles of dealing with stinky feet, smile as there are simple yet effective home remedies for stinky feet that can help you bid farewell to the condition once and for all.

It all starts with how clean you are. If you notice that you have this problem then the best home remedy is to first of all stay clean. Always wash your feet well, put on dry socks and leather shoes. Your shoes should be made of cotton. Have more than two pairs of leather shoes with replaceable in soles, then after putting on a pair of shoes skip them next day as twenty four hour breathing space is required to kill the bacteria that causes smelly feet. Synthetic socks and shoes will only worsen the situation as just a little sweat can give you an experience you are already familiar with.

Make a habit of washing your feet at least twice a day. In the morning use a foot bath and do the same in the evening before going to bed. This may at first seem as hard but it will help you a lot as you will not only be taking good care of your feet but also your wellbeing. Use an antibacterial soap or Betadine scrub for best results. Though there is little evidence supporting Epsom salt, it can also be used with warm water as one or the home remedies for stinky feet.  Alternatively you can soak your feet in a string black tea for half an hour daily. The tannin often confused with tannic acid which is in black tea will kill the bacteria that cause stinky feet. It will also close up the pores and help you to keep your feet dry for long.

Aluminum chloride, popularly known as Drysol can also be used as an effective home remedy for stinky feet. It also closes up the pores and prevents sweating. For best results when using aluminum chloride, apply it on your feet in the evening before for going to bed. Then leave it overnight on the feet and rinse it off in the morning.

Remember to always powder your socks and shoes to keep yourself dry throughout the day. Then never ever put on dry socks or shoes. They will just worsen the condition. If the problem persists then consult your dermatologist to find out the main cause of the problem and possible solutions.
