Many men suffer from prostate issues in their lifetime and it is unfortunate that many men go through this as they age. Many men over 50 or 60 get checked by their doctor once a year with regards to any pain in the prostate area. There are 3 major prostate disorders which are prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostatitis.  The main mission of the prostate is to produce a significant amount of seminal fluid.

The prostate is the size of a walnut and grows as a man ages. Some men experience problems with this gland over the age of 40 as the prostate can enlarge. When the prostate becomes overly big it can cause a variety of issues. The enlarged prostate, which is behind the man’s bladder, can push up against the urethra making the man always feel like he has to urinate.

If the prostate does become much bigger and continues to push on the urethra, the bladder can become weaker. Symptoms of a prostate problem can include these below.

•    Inability to empty the whole bladder
•    Difficult urination and difficulty starting to urinate
•    Frequent urination in the evening, waking in the middle of the night
•    Dribbling after visiting the toilet
•    Painful urination such as burning
•    Horrible pain in the scrotum area
•    Painful ejaculation

It is very important to pay attention to the prostate. If you have a problem and the condition is not treated in time, it could lead to a variety of dangerous infections, more pain, and life threatening situations. Your diet plays a big role in prostate health and you might need to make some alterations to your daily regimen. Some home remedies for optimum prostate health are as follows:

•    Try eating pumpkin seeds as they can be extremely beneficial to someone who is suffering from difficult urination and prostate issues. Pumpkin seeds are a great source of zinc and they also work as a diuretic.
•    Order the salmon! Salmon is a great source of mega 3 oils which are great for preventing tumors from developing.
•    Try adding more tomatoes to your diet. They have been known to keep the prostate healthy and prevent cancer from developing. This is because of their antioxidant agent called Lycopene.
•    Use soy for a healthy prostate. Have it in milk form or in a yogurt form if you like.
•    Try eating watermelon seeds as they clean up the body, get rid of toxins and work well for bladder health.

Water is always important for a properly hydrated body. Drink 8 glasses of water everyday for prostate health and always get checked by your doctor. Ask your doctor about any concerns to do with the prostate and plan regular prostate exams. (Usually once or twice per year is sufficient) Avoid eating a lot of red meats and exercise regularly for a healthy body inside and out. You might have to reorganize your daily diet and eat healthier foods, which in the long run will benefit you.
