Eczema, otherwise known as dermatitis, is a group of skin disorders. Allergic contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, seborrhoeic eczema, discoid eczema and varicose eczema are all different types of eczema. Of all these types of eczema, atopic dermatitis is the most common. In most cases, it affects infants and children. There is also dyshidrotic eczema which is very prominent in warm weathers and nummular eczema which affects people during the winters. These two eczema types can affect any part of the body especially the chest areas, feet and hands. Children seem to be more susceptible to eczema than adults. Eczema is not contagious but can be painful and extremely uncomfortable.
Though there are several treatments for eczema, most of them contain chemicals that could be harmful to your sensitive skin. Your condition can thus be aggravated or healed but you would still have to deal with some side effects. The best option therefore is to use proven herbal cures for eczema. The following are but among the herbal cures for eczema.
A lotion made of spearmint leaves, a few drops of oil and dandelion leaves is one of the best herbal cures for eczema. Gently apply this lotion on the affected area and allow it to remain on for thirty minutes. Then rinse it off with cold water. Use this lotion daily for thirty minutes till you begin to see some positive results.
A mixture of a tablespoon of camphor and sandal wood can be made in to a paste and used on the skin. Just apply it and leave o the skin for fifteen or twenty minutes before you can rinse it off with cold water. Nutmeg paste can also be used as an alternative to the camphor sandal wood paste.

A few drops of lemon juice can be added to this nut avocado mixture to increase its effectiveness in exfoliating.
Keep in mind that eczema can be caused by vitamin B12 deficiency or just by heredity factors. Eat well, exercise and treat the condition on time before it worsens. Then if it seems too stubborn and not responding to any treatment, consult your dermatologist as soon as you can.
