Abnormal sweating of the armpit is a condition that doctors refer to as Axillary Hyperhidrosis. It affects people of all races who are past the adolescent stage. The problem normally begins at puberty and then worsens as one grows older. It causes a lot of embarrassment for people who suffer from it. They have to put on clothes that will not show their sweaty armpits and use strong roll ons to hide the odor from the sweat.
Fortunately, the condition can be treated using simple home remedies for sweaty armpits. It can also be treated once and for all through medical procedures.
Before using any of the home remedies for sweaty armpits, it is important to fist shave the hair under your arms. Hairy armpits sweat more as the hair traps the sweat and odors. With a clean armpit, you can be sure of enough air circulation for your skin. Your underarms will not therefore be hot and will sweat less. You should also put on the right cloth colors and not too tight cloths. There will be more air circulation for your skin so it does not get so hot under your arms. Dark colors will absorb more heat and cause more sweating under your arms while tight clothing will prevent enough air flow and cause even more sweating.
Malt vinegar is one of the best home remedies for sweaty armpits. All you need to do is to apply malt vinegar to your under arms before going to bed. Then in the morning wash your underarms well, dry them and use a normal antiperspirant. Avoid mixing different antiperspirants as that can create another embarrassing problem which you may already have known. It can create dark underarms.
Aluminium chloride solution is also one of the best home remedies for sweaty armpits. Just 20 percent of aluminum chloride is enough to put an end the sweaty armpits you could be struggling with. The solution has different names such as Drysol, Driclor, Anhydrol Forte, Perspirex, Odaban and Certain Dri. It works by causing the pores of the sweat glands no malfunction by swelling and blocking sweat from coming out of them. Apply the solution every night before going to bed but do so only on dry underarms as the solution reacts with water. You should not use the solution if you have just shaven or you have a cut on your armpit. Use the solution for two or three days then cut down to the frequency of the application so that you do not end up irritating your underarms.
Tomato juice can also help you to prevent sweaty underarms. Drink a cup of it every morning for best results. It is a rich antioxidant that can regulate the activities of the sweat glands. Grapes too seem to have the same effect as tomato juice. You can therefore consume them every day if you find it hard to drink tomato juice. Then cut down your consumption of such things as onions and garlic as they only worsen the situation.
