·        Asparagus roots are commonly used in herbal medicines for treating any disease related to brain and any mental disorders. These roots are available in the form of powder which can be easily consumed on a daily basis as a good tonic for nervous system.

·        Cashew nut is also a good source of thiamine, a group B vitamin which is considered to stimulate the nervous system giving energy and also stimulate appetite. Because of these reasons they are also considered as good depression home remedies.

·        Tea and coffee are not considered good for those suffering from depression. Instead of these such people can take drink with rose petals. They are found to be very good in treating mental depression. It can be prepared by mixing 15 grams of rose petals with 250 ml of boiling water.

·        May be the easiest among natural remedies for depression is probably consuming apples every day. They are rich in Phosphorus, potassium and vitamin B all of which are good for stimulating brain cells. Apples can be taken with milk and honey for more effectiveness.

·        Cardamom is also found to be very good depression home remedies as it has got a very pleasing aroma that can give a soothing effect on anyone. You can prepare a drink with cardamom powder and drink twice daily to fight depression.

·        There are many herbs like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Jatamansi, etc. are some of the herbs used in the treatment of depression and are found very effective as they all have soothing and calming effect on the mind.

·        Turmeric considered as a good antibiotic is also very good natural home remedies for depression.

·        A mixture made from nutmeg powder and amla juice if taken thrice a day can give effective results in fighting depression. It has to be prepared by mixing 1 tablespoon of amla juice with 1/8 nutmeg powder.

·        A drink made with tulsi (1/4 teaspoon) and sage (1/2 teaspoon) if taken daily can also give a soothing effect.

·        Yoga and meditation are proved good for relaxation and stress relief. If practiced daily, this can be very effective in fighting depression.
