Home Remedies for Morning Sickness

Pregnant women normally experience bouts of vomiting, nausea and sometimes headaches.  Such symptoms are normally referred to a morning sickness. They can occur at any time of the day but they are very common in the morning. They are also common during the first three months of pregnancy. The symptoms of morning sickness always occur as early as the sixth week after copulation.

The symptoms will then gradually increase in the following months and will fade as the baby is about to be delivered.

Unlike other condition, you cannot prevent or avoid morning sickness. In fact it can be comfortably said to be one of the few conditions that any pregnant woman should be happy about. If you are pregnant and you do not experience morning sickness, you should consult your doctor for a checkup. It is simply a case of no pain no gain. The good news however is, there are simple home remedies for morning sickness that can be used to alleviate the symptoms. But before using any of these home remedies please note that you should only use them after consulting your doctor and having his or her go ahead. That is the only way you can be sure you are not putting the health of your baby inside you at risk.

One of the best home remedies for morning sickness is simply eating. Well, for this home remedy you do not need to consult your doctor. You can just do it comfortably. Simply eat small amounts of foods throughout the day. This will keep your stomach always full or at least with something. Then note that some women find carbohydrates to work better for then when eating to avoid morning sickness. Others find proteins to be beneficial. If it is your first pregnancy, find out which food works well for you and stick to it.

Some foods can trigger morning sickness and should be avoided. Speaking of food, you have to ensure that you eat the right diet for pregnancy. You meal should be well balanced and without any artificial flavors that can harm the baby. Drink lots of water and avoid too much caffeine. Keep off smoking and alcohol completely as they will only harm the baby.  Avoid greasy and spicy food as they will cause you heartburns which will in turn bring about morning sickness.  Keep your blood sugar balanced during your pregnancy period by eating protein rich foods just before going to bed.

Peppermint can help you a lot when it comes to alleviating nausea. Its aroma is pleasing and most women find it pleasing. Add two or three drops of it to your water or just smell it. Apple cider vinegar on the other had can also be used as a home remedy for morning sickness as it reduces queasiness and fatigue.

If your morning sickness is unbearable, do not stop using the home remedies for morning sickness. Simply consult your doctor and find out what is wrong. Then ask the doctor if you can go on with home remedies or not.
