My child(3) does not sleep well. Would lavender help?

Yes lavender can help your child to get some sleep. It is a gentle strengthening tonic for the nervous system. Just one or two few drops of lavender oil added to a bath before bedtime is recommended for persons with sleep disorders. Additionally, the oil may be used as a compress in its room temperature or simply inhaled to alleviate insomnia. Chamomile tea too may be used as a home remedy for irregular sleep patterns in children. It is an effective sedative herb which can be safely used by children as well as adults in the same proportions. Chamomile tea is commonly used in Europe, South America, and Mexico for insomnia and restlessness combined with irritability, particularly in children. Five to six drops of chamomile oil can also be put in bath water to soothe overwrought nerves. It can also be diluted to two percent to make an excellent massage oil, or used as an inhalant. Finally, help your child to maintain a regular sleep pattern. Set a fixed time for him to go to sleep and to wake. You should also ensure that he eats balanced diet meals daily. This will help the brain to adopt to sleep changes effectively.
