There are several things that can bring about severe heat intolerance. Amphetamines such as appetite suppressants, excess thyroid hormone, menopause and caffeine are among the most common causes of heat intolerance. The best you can do to help yourself from home is to keep your room temperature at a cool comfortable level. Put on your air conditioners and relax. Then drink lots of fluids or just water to keep your body hydrated and cool. If your heat intolerance is accompanied by dizziness, fainting, palpitations, rapid heart rate and vomiting, you should see a doctor as soon as you can. You should also see a doctor if the condition gets worse when you exercise.
