Blood pressure is an important vital sign. It is the measurement of pressure of the blood flowing through your blood vessels called arteries against the vessel walls. It tends to change with age dramatically. Because of these reasons it is very crucial that you check your blood pressure regularly. The normal blood pressure for an elderly person is 140/90 mmHG while for young people, it is 120 80 mmHg. You should however note that there are factors that can affect your blood pressure like diabetes and being overweight. It is therefore advisable to see your physician for advanced medical treatment and to find out if you have any underlying condition that can worsen your blood pressure.
