If you are exercising and experience breathing problems or chest pain, you should immediately stop and consult a medical doctor. It could be a symptom of a serious heart disease. It could be a disease or condition that can only be treated in its early stages.
Up to 90 percent of asthma patients will experience symptoms when they exercise. If you have this condition, symptoms may begin within five to 10 minutes of starting exercise. Cold weather often worsens the symptoms. Signs may include chest tightness or pain, wheezing, shortness of breath and coughing.
This condition is marked by unnaturally high blood pressure in the arteries of your lungs. The right side of your heart will have to put forth more effort to compensate for the increase in pressure. Activity or exercise related lightheadedness or shortness of breath are typically the first symptoms. Other symptoms may include heart palpitations, chest pain or pressure, ankle and leg swelling, fatigue, bluish skin or lips, fainting or dizziness and weakness.
Your coronary arteries are responsible for supplying your heart muscle with oxygen rich blood. With this condition, these arteries have some degree of blockage, and if the blockage is complete, heart muscle damage can occur. If severe, heart muscle death is possible, which may eventually lead to a heart attack. This condition is the No. 1 cause of death throughout the world. Chest pain is very common and is usually brought on by exercise, cold weather, emotional stress or consuming a big meal. You may also experience sweating, weakness, nausea and shortness of breath.
