Well, it depends with the type of scars and marks that you have on face or body in general. The most common type of scars that several people face are scars left by acne and pimples. There are several home remedies for this type of scars. Surprisingly, kitchen items are the cheapest and also the most effective ingredients that can be used to remove scars and marks. The first effective and perhaps the best home remedy for scars and marks is lemon juice. The juice can easily lighten your skin and clear the marks and scars very first. Just dab a teaspoonful of lemon juice in a cotton bud or ball then sooth the juice over the acne marks. Be patient for ten minutes then rinse. Just after using lemon juice for treatment do not forget to apply a sunscreen lotion or jelly on the area you treated with lemon juice. This is simply because lemon juice causes photosensitivity on your skin. It is also advisable to use exfoliants to treat scars and marks. A good in this case would be baking soda. It gently exfoliates the skin and leaves it soft, smooth and silky. Since baking soda is used in microdermabrasion treatment, you can use it to make your own homemade microdermabrasion treatment. Do this by mixing a teaspoon of baking soda with two teaspoons of clean filtered water. Then rub the mixture on the scar or the mark on your face with the mixture for one minute and rinse it off.
