 There are a number of home remedy solutions for poison ivy. They all can stop the itchy sensation or get rid of the rash. One thing you need to know though is that most of the home remedies solutions listed below may not work instantly. Thy may take up to a day or two before you can see the rashes clear off. However, they can get rid of the itchy sensation very first. The first thing you need to do is to wash the affected area in running water. This will help get rid of the histamines from your skin. Then extract some juice from the hollow part of the jewel plant and apply it on the rashes. Leave it to dry before you can rinse it off with warm water. Jewelweed will cure the rash in 3 days. Another perfect home remedy for poison ivy is the witch hazel. It has great anti-inflammatory properties that can cure the rash and reduce the blisters very first. You can also make your own skin to treat poison ivy. This can be done by mixing a table spoon od goldenseal root powder with a cup of warm water. Then use a cotton dab to cool the rashes with tis solution. The anti-inflammatory agents of goldenseal root powder will get rid of the rashes very first. Finally, you can soak two or three cups of oatmeal in a bowl and apply it on the rashes then leave it to dry before rising it off with cold water. The white powder you will note after the paste has dried is very essential in curing poison ivy rashes. For best results you can add just a little bit of baking soda to it.
