The first thing to do is to first remove the bug from your eye. This can be done in two simple ways. The first way is to get in clean tub water and have your eye wide open under the water. This method works but it is bit risky and can also cause some germs to get into the yes. You can therefore try out turning a faucet with room temperature water then gently hold your eyelids open with your fingers. Then stick your eye in the stream of water for some minutes. Repeat this process till the bug comes out.
After removing the bug, use a cold compress around the swollen eye and then take an antihistamine. If the swelling increases or does not seem to reduce after two or three days, then see your doctor as soon as you can.
