L Lysine for cold sores Submitted by susan
initial breakout or tingling. take L lysine. 1000mg three times a day spaced out over the entire day. after 3 days reduce daily until you are taking 500mg daily .it builds up in your body. and will prevent a breakout. I did not have one for 6 years.
Now If I forget my lip protector on a sunny day and feel the tingle. I start with 3000mg for 3 days and it usually doesn't even break out.

So I got a really bad cold sore on Saturday and I just had to do something. I mixed toothpaste, salt, Blistex, and Aciclovit cream from Chile and left it on overnight. The coldsore got 60% better! It's practically gone now. I know it's weird but it's worth a try if you have the ingredients.
The Most Effective Remedy Submitted by angVlc
I got a cold sore when I was 17. I have tried everything from Abreva to lemon juice etc. My cold sore is located in the left corner of my mouth and would get really horrible because I would try all of these different remedies and didn't know how to take care of it properly, until now. The best remedy and advice I can give you is this. First, remember to always keep your lips moist. Cold sores love to come out when you have dry lips. Try to protect your lips in the winter and the summer. The best way you know you are getting a cold sore is by the tingling sensation. The worst thing you can do when you have a cold sore is continually apply a moist product on it. In order to get rid of the cold sore right away is to dry it out, IMMEDIATELY. You do this by applying peroxide directly on the cold sore frequently through out the day. Apply Blistex on the rest of your lips, around the cold sore, NOT on it, in order to keep your lips moist. If your lips are dry the cold sore can spread and or get worse. Drink plenty of water and take Vitamin B, because cold sores tend to break out more with people that have a vitamin B deficiency. This is the best and quickest way to get rid of your cold sore, I am speaking from years of experience. My cold sore only lasts for 4 days, and it doesn't get ugly it just looks like a very tiny piece of dry skin or a tiny chapped area in the corner of my mouth, it is very discreet. I have helped some of my friends with this remedy as well as myself, so I would highly recommend this to you.

i have always had a problem with cold sores ,cold sores are not the prettiest sight.ok so get an ice cube and put it on your cold sore for about 20 mins but wrap it in a tea towel.Next, mix some salt with some toothpaste in a small container. now grab a cotton bud and apply the paste to you cold sore and leave it for 1 hour, repeat this remedy for as long as you can. tip - if your cold sore is a blister pop it with needle and dont touch your cold sore it will only make it worse!!!
thanks
